About

Social Impact Studio is a joint initiative of the innovation office at the
University of Gothenburg and the student organisation Black Dot.

​

Our aims are to improve the exposure of unused research results with the public

and facilitate initiatives that address one or several of our societal challenges.

​

We do this by translating research results that address unmet societal needs into challenges
and by facilitating and supporting teams that drive the implementation of solutions.
 

Do you want to help create solutions for challenges in your community 
and make knowledge from academia useful for society? Then join one of our kickoff events.
It is an opportunity for interdisciplinary teams to form and develop solutions.

After the event we will provide support and coaching based on the specific needs of each team.

In between kickoff events we continue to register interest for specific challenges, as
there might be opportunities to join one of the teams later.

For the future we are aiming to build a platform that will facilitate knowledge 

exchange between academia and society that involves the whole community.

​

In our daily work with researchers we come across many brilliant ideas that can impact
and transform our society towards well-being and true sustainability.
Many of those ideas do not necessarily need to be growth focused startups or even
legal entities in order to create a positive impact.
 

Thus we are not intending to be another entrepreneurship incubator,
but a test-lab for daring ideas that want to challenge what we think is possible.

In order not to be another silo we actively seek collaboration
and constantly reach out to other groups working on similar goals.
